After Saturday Rose and I were not alone, we could welcome Ernst in the evening. Already on Sunday morning we did the first excursion to a car show in Rutland with him. It was great to see the old cars and motorcycles which are still being driven around. In the evening we had big steaks and potatoes on the grill. It was delicious, no black one! On Monday it was hot again. Lila with her two children came and we went together to a glass blower in Quechee. Especially the children had a lot of fun to watch the craft. After we visited a Christmas shop where you can find all Christmas decorations and special things like a singing deer. At home again I did my homework until we had dinner.

On Saturday we decided to go to the Rodeo. We left the Bed and Breakfast in Bridgewater at 6 o’clock and made a short detour in Rutland at a shopping center. There it was very steamy and it was raining. But we were lucky that the weather was really better in Castleton where you can find the Pond Hill Ranch. The show began at 8.00 pm. They presented all different kinds of competitions. You can see saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, girls’ barrel racing, team roping and riding of course. I thought the part with the Brahma bulls was the most exciting but also the most dangerous one. The cowboys try to stay on the bull. The funny cowboy clown has to watch out that the cowboys are safe after they fall down.
In the break we satisfied our hunger with French fries. The whole event was very diverse and you get a good impression of a cowboy’s life. At midnight we arrived home and went to bed tired.
